Kiwi Conservation Club

KCC is part of Forest and Bird and its aim is to encourage children to enjoy, respect, understand, and love their natural world. They are nurturing the young conservationist of the future! KCC is a nation-wide organisation and there are 34 active clubs scattered around the country with over 1600 members including individual children, family groups and schools.

Each member receives a copy of the KCC magazine Wild Things five times a year. It’s packed full of stories, project ideas, conservation news and hints for nature activities. You will also receive a quarterly newsletter that tells you of future activities like overnight family trips to Wellington Zoo, Napier Aquarium and Camp Rangi Woods, or join one of their day trip to see the endangered Whio (Blue Duck) or plant Pingao at Tangamoana Beach, or help with conservation work like the replanting of the Manawatu Gorge with Rata (Project Crimson), or even become a Ranger for the Day at Pukaha Mt Bruce. These are a few of the fascinating things kids can do with this club.
