Natural Burial Manawatū would like to see natural burials as the easiest and most cost-effective funeral choice for our community. Natural burial involves no chemical treatments of bodies or coffins. Bodies are left in their natural state and enclosed in natural products, and burial sites are planted into permanent forests. We want to allow people the choice to return to the earth in as natural a state as possible, with their burial supporting the regeneration of marginal land into permanent forest, as a last gift to the planet that has sustained them during their lifetime.
