Palmerston North City Council want to see more people on bikes in our city. The Urban Cycle Network Masterplan outlines how they plan to achieve this.

Cycle lanes on higher traffic routes will be widened and connected, and there will be more cycleways in quieter residential streets. A shortlist of 11 streets has been drawn up, based on the number of potential users, cost of implementing, safety, the effect on other vehicles, residents and businesses, number of crashes, traffic volume and speed, demand, access to schools. PNCC want to know if you agree with this list, if you think they should build more cycleways or better quality ones, and your ideas for how we can get more people on bikes.

You can read the draft plan and explore the interactive map on the PNCC website. Make a submission by filling in the online form, or email submission@pncc.govt.nz. This consultation closed on the 5th of July.
